Global Plastics Supplier Orders 3,300+ Railcars with Miner Double Groove III Gates

Miner Low-Profile Plastic Pellet Gates

(Geneva, IL U.S.A.) Miner Enterprises, Inc. is pleased to announce that it has just surpassed the 1,000-car milestone in fulfilling a 3,300-car order from a major plastics supplier. The entire fleet will feature Miner’s Double Groove III pneumatic gates for plastic pellets. The new railcars are being built by National Steel Car (NSC) in Hamilton, Ontario. Close to 1,000 cars have already been delivered through the program, which will run through the end of 2020.

“It’s especially gratifying when a global company, very high on the Fortune 100 list, recognizes the inherent value and lifecycle cost benefits that result when Miner products are specified for their fleet,” said Bill O’Donnell, executive director of global sales for Miner. “With its proven design and rugged reliability, our Double Groove III pneumatic gates will pay dividends for the company and its customers for years to come.”

Among the most trusted and widely specified gates by plastic pellet shippers, the Miner Double Groove III features a watertight, obstruction free, proven design that’s simple to operate. Its triple layer of seals protects the integrity of even the finest powder products.
The gate’s one-piece design and 3-inch valve deliver fast and easy flow. The Double Groove III has no ledges or supports where pellets can get stuck. Smooth ground welds eliminate commodity build-up.

The interlocking handle is designed to stay secure in transit, preventing leakage, and safeguarding loads from contamination. The 5/16” thick air chamber creates a rugged core that maximizes resistance to damage. The stiffener on the gate’s mounting flange prevents scalloping and ensures the best seal when secured to railcars.

The Miner Double Groove III plastic pellet gate is recognized as the most simple, reliable and proven gate for plastics shippers worldwide.
