Customer Service Representative

Scope/Summary Statement: To provide customer service support to Miner Elastomer Products Corporation. Ensuring the highest level of customer satisfactions is maintained through accurate and timely entry of orders, monitoring customer portals to ensure changes in product demand is communicated to scheduling and production in a timely manner as well as day of shipment ASN's. This position requires working directly with S&R Manager as well as Director of Sales and Marketing.

Primary Duties

  1. Receives and processes customer orders from phone conversations with customers, quotes initiated by sales representatives, customer email exchanges or fax, ensuring that orders are placed accurately and timely.
  2. Responds to customer inquiries and/or changes by updating appropriate information and individuals within the Company.
  3. Ensures and provides quality service to both internal and external customers.
  4. Initiates contact with customers and/or sales reps to verify issues related to order detail and accuracy.
  5. Monitor and maintain customer Portals to obtain orders and ensure orders are entered properly as well as Day of shipment ASN's.
  6. Work directly with and for the shipping department to ensure all customer shipping requirements are communicated properly and shipping issues are addressed in a timely manner.
  7. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  8. Contributes to the development and maintenance of standards, and procedures regarding customer service. This will require working directly with S&R, Scheduling, and manufacturing department heads.
  9. Actively ensure the retention of the organization's customer base which includes promoting the organization to existing customers.
  10. Prepares, generates and distributes daily order acknowledgements to appropriate personnel.
  11. Provides order entry reports each month to the Director of Sales and Marketing.
  12. Process Credit card orders as needed.
  13. Obtain credit applications and financial information for new customers
  14. Process and complete NDAs for customers requesting technical data.
  15. Maintain customer contact information in the MRP system.
  16. Responsible for processing commercial invoices.
  17. Handle Misc. P.O. (website ordering) as directed by S&R Manager.
  18. Backup invoicing and ASN's when necessary due to vacations schedules and/or personal leaves.
  19. Work with scheduling for ship dates and lead time.
  20. Print labels as time allows.

Qualifications/Skills:

  1. 2 years of progressive customer service experience is required. Candidates with equivalent experience to associates degree and work history will be considered.
  2. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  3. Ability to prioritize and handle competing requests and deadlines.
  4. Ability to learn internal software.
  5. Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Office product, including Excel and Word. Database management experience is a plus.

Extrusion Machinist / Operator

Scope/Summary Statement: Perform duties necessary to produce and assemble product in accordance with process instructions and quality specifications, in a safe and timely manner.

Job Function Statements: Perform all manufacturing, safety, quality, and assembly functions utilizing both verbal and written work instructions.

Essential

  1. Ability to perform basic (as a minimum) or advanced (preferred) machining operations such as milling, lathe work, drill, and saw.  This includes setting up the machine and monitoring the machining processes.
  2. Ability to machine parts for "fit and function" as well as to meet specifications.
  3. Read and follow blueprints, drawings and sketches.
  4. Ensures work area cleanliness and safety.
  5. Inspect set up and parts to ensure quality standards.
  6. Follows work instructions, as trained and/or provided, during the manufacturing process.
  7. Report required information to appropriate quality and production forms (parts, labor, etc.).
  8. Able to work alone and within a team environment.
  9. Operation of manual & semi-automatic presses and other production machines.
  10. Alert shift lead or management of any questionable conditions concerning quality or equipment operation.
  11. Perform mold or tooling changes per production requirements.
  12. Count and label product, packaging and bulk containers.
  13. Perform repetitive operations.
  14. Maintain shop floor housekeeping and organization

Marginal

  1. Set and remove die sets according to specifications.
  2. Operate lift truck, welder, sand blaster, etc.
  3. Fill in for other employees when needed.
  4. Other duties as required.

TOOLS EQUIP. & MEASURING INSTRUMENTS: The use of quality gauges, rulers, welders, hydraulic presses, spray painter, small arbor presses, hand tools, fixtures and packaging equipment.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED);  three years related experience and/or training. Basic PC operation (email, office), CAD is a plus. Training by MEPC in the use of the current ERP system.

Machinist

Machinist reports to Machine Shop Foreman, Miner Enterprises
Work location: Geneva, IL.

Scope/Summary Statement:

The Machinist will be responsible for the planning, setup, and operation of all machine shop equipment such as milling, grinding, drilling, band/chop saw, turning (lathe work) and polishing.

Job Function Statements:

  • Set up and monitor all shop machines and there processes. Including holding tolerances of +/- .002.
  • Read and understand blue prints, drawings, sketches and instructions to complete specifications of output.
  • Must be able to setup and operate all manual machine shop equipment.
  • Create basic Prototrak conversational CNC programs.
  • Custom machine parts for “fit and function”. Not all parts will have drawings or specifications.
  • Communicate and collaborate with various departments to create proto type components parts, assemblies, tooling gages, maintenance repair parts and test equipment.
  • Must be able to accurately use measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, pin gages and other standard precision measuring devices.

Education and / or Experience:

  • High School graduate or GED required, completion of technical school highly recommended.
  • Minimum of 5 years of machining experience.
  • Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders, etc.).
  • CNC programming and CAD software experience is a plus.
  • Ability to machine and fabricate parts.
  • Ability to work in a safety conscious manner; understanding safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform related tasks in a time-sensitive environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds.

Hydraulic Mechanic

Hydraulic Mechanic reports to Foreman, Miner Enterprises
Work location: Geneva, IL. Full Time-1st. shift

Key Responsibilities:

The Hydraulic Mechanic is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of heavy duty hydraulic equipment, as well as performing general machine/building maintenance.

Essential Functions:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and maintain heavy duty hydraulic systems
  • Identify hydraulic components and their capabilities
  • Read and understand schematics
  • Capable of performing electrical/mechanical troubleshooting root-cause, repairing and rebuilding equipment
  • Work with production personnel to correctly identify repair requirements
  • Understand and utilize blueprints, operator manuals and/or part catalogs in order to successfully fulfill preventative and corrective maintenance procedures
  • Perform work on motors, compressors, conveyors and boilers, and various hydraulic presses ranging from 5-600 tons
  • Be available for emergency breakdowns (on-call) and/or snow removal during off work hours, as needed

Requirements:

  • HS diploma and/or vocational school training. Minimum of 5 year’s hydraulic experience.
  • Excellent working knowledge of hydraulic systems and components including troubleshooting and retro-fitting or designing hydraulic systems.
  • Solid understanding of electrical (480V), mechanical pneumatic, hydraulic and piping systems.
  • Welding and torch cutting abilities.
  • Ability to machine and fabricate parts.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills for injection molding, hydraulic presses and automated assembly equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work in a safety conscious manner; understanding safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Must have valid driver’s license.

Assemblers

We are currently looking for qualified Assemblers to work full time in our Geneva, IL location.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Assemble product in accordance with process instructions and quality specifications, in a safe and timely manner.
  • Inspection of parts to ensure quality standards.
  • Follow work instructions, during the manufacturing process.
  • Teardown and setup of equipment and tooling according to specifications.
  • Enter information obtained using measuring devices into data collection system.
  • Operation of manual and semi-automatic jobs as well as grinders and other machines.
  • Report information to appropriate quality and production forms.
  • Run extruders and other related equipment.
  • Ability to use gauges, rulers, calipers, general plastics processing equipment hand tools, fixtures and packaging equipment.

Requirements:

  • Experience with using hand tools
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must be able to read, write and understand English
  • Basic computer skills
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Maintenance Mechanic

We are looking for someone on first shift and someone on second shift.
Essential responsibilities include:

  • Capable of performing electrical/mechanical troubleshooting root-cause, repairing and rebuilding equipment.  This includes working directly with production personnel to correctly identify repair requirements.
  • Perform preventative maintenance (PM’s) on production equipment with minimal guidance to ensure machines and building systems continue to operate efficiently and reduce downtime.
  • Understand and utilize blueprints, operator manuals and/or part catalogs in order to successfully fulfill preventative and corrective maintenance procedures.  Some machinery will require you work directly with manufacturer.
  • Complete required Work Order paperwork, Material Requisition, etc. as needed.
  • Machine and fabricate parts.
  • Perform work on motors, compressors, conveyors and boilers.
  • Follow proper safety protocols and adhering to Arc Flash requirements as well as Lock Out/Tag Out requirements.
  • Be available for emergency breakdowns (on-call) and/or snow removal during off work hours, as needed.

Candidate requirements:

  • HS diploma and/or vocational school training.  Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a maintenance mechanic.
  • Excellent working knowledge of PLC’s including troubleshooting and basic programming abilities.
  • Solid understanding of electrical (480V), mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and piping systems.
  • Welding and torch cutting abilities.
  • Ability to machine and fabricate parts.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills for injection molding, hydraulic presses and automated assembly equipment.
  • HVAC/Boiler operational and troubleshooting skills.
  • Previous experience with repair and service for motorized material handling vehicles
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work in a safety conscious manner; understanding safety guidelines and protocols that affect this position.
