Roller Assist
The TCC-III-RA standard travel models incorporate the same metal-to-metal design as the ST and LT models, with the addition of a roller-assist feature to improve railcar curving. Designed for a set up height of 5-1/6": with 5/16" travel.

The constant contact side bearing can support no more than 85% of the body weight. The maximum side bearing preload that can be utilized for a given car design is calculated by dividing the car body weight by four and multiplying by 85% (AAR Specification M-948-77).
